Autumn is, in our view, the finest time to experience the Dordogne. The summer crowds have gone, the light turns soft and golden, and the walnut & chestnut forests, along with vineyards, take on deep russet and amber colours. Local markets overflow with seasonal produce, the first truffles appear, and the prehistoric caves and villages can be enjoyed in peace. Days remain mild enough for long walks and blend into cosy evenings in our stunning Manor.  Be sure to pack your camera then, immerse yourself in the spectacle of the sights and sounds of wildlife in our 11ha grounds— the perfect place at the perfect pace for a genuine Périgord stay.

Discover what’s happening in Les Eyzies and the Vézère Valley this season.

Markets, exhibitions, concerts, guided walks, seasonal festivals and special events are updated regularly by the official tourist office.
